Middle School Strings Instructor
2018-2019 School Year
Description:
- Middle School Strings Instructor is responsible for teaching string classes to middle school students. The classes would start at the end of August and go through the middle of May. There are no payments to collect for the middle school program. The salary is $60.00 per hour for five classes per week.
Qualifications:
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent
- Requires applicant to be a strings specialist (violin, viola, cello, and string bass knowledge required)
- Requires some knowledge of the Suzuki Method
- Requires 1-2 years of teaching experience in either private or group lesson settings
Essential Job Functions include the following:
- Responsible for teaching students the fundamentals of their stringed instrument
- Responsible for setting up a teaching schedule within the parameters of the Middle School Program.
- Responsible for communicating with students and their parents/guardians of class expectations, student achievement, class schedule and any cancellations due to teacher related issue or inclement weather
- Responsible for communicating with the school office, and the Strings Coordinator regarding schedule and updated enrollment.
- Responsible for the supervision of students until they are released to class (before school) or picked up by parent/guardian (after school)
- Other duties may be assigned
