School Food and Nutrition Services Manager

Position Summary:

Responsible for coordinating the preparation, planning and serving of the school meals program.

 

Qualifications:

• Requires 2 to 5 years of job-related prior experience
• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent
• Required to be ServSafe certified
• Ability to effectively operate computer and use departmental software
• Ability to effectively supervise and motivate staff
• Ability to communicate in all forms with students, parents, district personnel and others
• Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships

 

Essential Job Functions:

• Coordinates the planning, preparation, and serving of the school meals program
• Oversees daily kitchen activities
• Places and receives food orders from outside vendors
• Maintains kitchen supply inventory
• Enforces and participates in safety and sanitation procedures and the safe preparation and storage of food
• Supervises and assists in the preparation and serving of meals
• Prepares necessary reports and maintains records
• Oversees the training of personnel
• Oversees and prepares daily cash deposits
• Oversees the use of kitchen equipment and reports malfunctions
• Markets the school meals program
• Forecasts the amount of food to order and prepare
• Communicates with parents regarding student meal accounts
• Performs other related duties as required
• Performs yearly evaluations on kitchen staff
• Other duties as assigned

 

COMPENSATION FOR EXPERIENCE IS CONSIDERED, 2026-2027 Classified Salary Schedule
