System Support Specialist – Technology Department
12 Month Position
Anticipated Start Date: January 27, 2025
Position Summary: Responsible for district wide distribution, installation, repair, troubleshooting, maintenance and the wiring of computer hardware, software, and related equipment with an emphasis on customer service functions.
Qualifications: An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Requires an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college/university or technical school with an emphasis in computer hardware and network design preferred.
- A+ Certification and Net+ Certification preferred.
- Requires 2 or more years of job related prior experience related to computer installation and repair required.
- Exhibit abilities to work with multiple electronic systems including communication systems, wireless technologies, and audio/visual technologies required.
- Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with technology staff, administrators, school personnel, students, parents, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Installs, moves, repairs and reinstalls Desktop and Laptop Computers.
- Configures, repairs, inventories, and distributes Chromebook computers.
- Installs Category 6 wiring for new computers, security cameras, wireless access points, telephones, etc. Performs moves or changes to the voice and data outlets on the district network.
- Installs new peripherals including printers, wireless equipment, security cameras, Smart Boards, document cameras, televisions, etc.
- Installs, moves, and repairs classroom ceiling mounted projectors, audio visual systems and speaker systems.
- Install, repairs and configures a variety of software packages.
- Repairs and maintains peripheral devices.
- Installs, repairs and maintains building paging systems.
- Answer, acknowledge and support staff, students and student’s family members through the various helpdesks that have been created.
- Answer, acknowledge and support students from districts other than Mehlville.
- Documents all network outlets on-site and maintains database of outlet locations.
- Other duties may be assigned.
COMPENSATION FOR EXPERIENCE IS CONSIDERED, 2024-2025 Classified Salary Schedules
