Description:
Responsible for providing medical care to students and staff.
Qualifications:
- Requires LPN certification from an accredited school
- Requires 2 to 5 years of prior experience in a health-related occupation
- Required to be a LPN and maintain current Missouri licensure
- Knowledge of medical terminology, practices and procedure.
- Current CPR Certification with AED
- Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships
Essential Job Functions include the following:
- Provides first aid in accordance with the “Health Procedure Manual”
- Administers medication under the supervision of the school nurse
- Documents student visits, care, dispositions and medications administered and accidents/incidents
- Performs general clerical duties as assigned by the school nurse
- Maintains confidentiality of all information encountered in the scope of responsibilities
- Consults with a Registered Nurse when situation is outside bounds of procedure manual or when treatment advice is necessary
- Attends in-service training sessions
- Provides information to parents regarding student health, community resources, etc. as directed by the school nurse
- Performs general clinical duties as assigned, trained and supervised by the school nurse
- Other duties may be assigned
