Qualifications: A valid Missouri teaching certificate for Industrial Arts required.
Position Summary: To create an educational program and environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with pupils; motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a quality education, in accordance with each pupil’s ability; establish good relationships with parents and with other staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
- Teaches district approved curriculum and adheres to adopted Board of Education policies.
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with students, staff and community.
- Develop strong working relationships with businesses and industries within the community.
- Develops lesson plans and instructional material for the following content areas: Metals I & II, Home Maintenance, Graphic Design, Computer Literacy, Introduction to Game Programming, Programming & Internet Literacy.
- Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Learns and implements strategies to instruct students in higher level of learning.
- Uses technologies to enhance instruction.
- Must be able to effectively organize and prioritize work.
- Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
- Evaluates pupils’ academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports.
- Identifies pupil needs and makes appropriate referrals and develops strategies for individual education plans.
- Must be able to give and follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
